Our history

Eighty years and counting

  1. 1942

    Born in wartime

On 30 April 1942, the lodge was consecrated at the Masonic Hall on Alcester Road South, Kings Heath, where we still meet today.

  2. 1942

    A name from the hills

We take our name from Frankley Beeches, the clump of beech trees that crowns a hilltop some 800 feet up near Rubery. You can see it on our lodge banner.

  3. 1943

    The two lemons

A brother serving in the Middle East sent home two lemons, a rare sight in wartime. They were auctioned at dinner for £14 14s, about £600 today, for the Worcestershire Masonic War Relief Fund.

  4. 1992

    Golden jubilee

Fifty years on, the lodge celebrated with more than a hundred visitors, and two daughter lodges of its own.

  5. 2042

    The road to our centenary

Our centenary is in sight. We’d like the men who join us now to be part of the story when it arrives.
